What is EVIL?

I am currently reading Gregory Maguire's Wicked, the book that inspired the hit Broadway musical of the same name. If you haven't heard of the book yet, it's basically a retelling of Frank L. Baum's classic children's story The Wizard Of Oz - in the Wicked Witch Of The West's point of view. The book explores and explains why the Witch's evilness came to be, and why she was obsessed with those silver (yeah - they aren't ruby) shoes.

Anyway, there's a scene in the book where the Witch (then known as Elphaba) has just "killed" her old school's headmistress, and she was at a party hosted by her old quasifriend, Avaric. At the dinner table, the topic of what evil is was raised up, and the responses were pretty interesting.

As a young kid, I remember growing up on Toy Story. We had the two movies (on VHS too - natch), and I remember Toy Story 2 to be one of the first movies I've watched in a cinema. I loved Woody and Buzz (admittedly I was scared of Slinkey the dog - but then I was three), and I hated Sid.

The Cold Within.

I'm going to post another favorite poem of mine. I also saw this in The Seven Habits, and, although haunting, it has a really deep meaning and a lesson that we should all learn.

Bad sleeping habits. :|

I really need to fix up my sleeping habits. They're like way out of control. You know how bad it is? I just woke up. And it's like 5:00PM here. :|

My parents have been scolding me about it. And I wholeheartedly agree. I need to fix my botched-up sleeping schedule. Or my daily schedule for that matter.

Coldplay

I LOVE COLDPLAY. They're like the awesomest band ever. Right now actually, I'm listening to Trouble on my iPod. Their songs have so much emotion and passion in them, and their instrumentals are really amazing. It's like, "Why are they so talented?" God really did bless them with heaps of talent.
